Is the Alesis Micron a proper synth for a beginner to learn on?

I'm looking to learn the rudiments of synthesizing and programming
with a synth. The looks and cost of an Alesis Micron is what drew me
in initially, and it also seems to have a simple interface. Any help
or advice would be appreciated.
