How Annoying Is Paul Rudd In 'Our Idiot Brother'?
From what we know about "Our Idiot Brother," which, truth be told, is based solely on our reaction to the trailers and the reviews, Paul Rudd's modus operandi in the family comedy is to pester his family and friends, played by the likes of Zooey Deschanel, Elizabeth Banks, Emily Mortimer and Rashida Jones (though in a lovable, if slightly moronic way). Yes, we realize there is more to the story, and that because Rudd is so lovable, his character likely doesn't stay annoying for too long. So when MTV News caught up with the cast at the film's premiere recently, we asked them point blank: How annoying is Paul Rudd in this movie? As expected, the results are fun and funny. "[He's] not as annoying as his Crocs," Rashida Jones told us of one particularly offensive piece of her costar's wardrobe. "No offense to people who wear Crocs, theyre super comfortable, but come on, not [to wear] out of the house." "On a scale of one to 10, hes an eight-and-a-half probably," Elizabeth Banks admitted. "But in real life hes more like a four." In contrast, Zooey Deschanel doesn't think Rudd has an annoying bone in his body. "Hes not annoying at all!" she protested. "Hes lovely. That was a trick question." Rudd, however, was happy to play ball, and offered a little reenactment by way of moving into our camera for an extreme close-up. "Almost as annoying as I am right now," he said in response to the 'How annoying are you?' question, before stepping back to consider the question seriously. "I think [his behavior] is annoying to certain characters," Rudd said. "Hopefully not to America."
Zoe Saldana Makes its way into Supernatural 'Dominion'
Is Zoe Saldana likely to be among individuals gifted stars who will get roles which are below her level until her once budding career is wasted away in a single genre film to another? These could appear like harsh words, but after Saldana's great submit 'Avatar,' i was searching for her to obtain a lot more challenging roles. Rather, she has been under-utilized in 'The Nonwinners,' 'Takers' which weekend's 'Colombiana' ('Colombiana' continues to be drubbed through the experts -- obtaining a 33 percent rating at Rotten Tomato plants, however the testers love the actress). So pardon us as we don't applaud this news (through the Hollywood Reporter) that Saldana provides the supernatural thriller 'Dominion' -- in regards to a lady (Saldana) who's half-human, half-angel -- at Vital. Saldana will even produce. At this time the project is within pitch form from Dean McCreary and Chester Hastings (the duo behind the unreleased 'Fanboy'), so it will likely be some time before it sees the sunshine of day. Meanwhile, Saldana will in all probability be preparing for 'Star Trek 2' and so the first 'Avatar' follow up in 2014. Between hopefully she's offered -- and takes -- some strong dramatic comes so she will showcase her chops additionally to her action moves and the body (see Summer's Most sexy Women: Zoe Saldana of 'Colombiana').

Gaultiero Jacopetti dies at 91
Filmmaker Gaultiero Jacopetti -- the man behind documentary "Mondo Cane" and its sequels, cult classics that collected examples of the creepy and bizarre from around the world -- died Wednesday in Rome. He was 91."Mondo cane" (the title means "A Dog's World") premiered at the 1962 Cannes Film Festival, where it drew accolades and was nominated for the Palme d'Or. Jacopetti called the film, which he made with his collaborators Franco Prosperi and Paolo Cavara, a "shockumentary." Such exploitation documentaries (e.g., the "Faces of Death" series) are also now known as mondo films.Jacopetti used both the narration and the juxtaposition of the often-disturbing material -- what he called "shock cuts" -- to achieve an ironic effect. In one scene, for example, a mother in New Guinea, bereaved over the death of her child, was shown nursing a piglet. The next scene depicted the slaughter of pigs in the same region for a carnal feast. The "Mondo Cane" theme song, "More," by Riz Ortolani and Nino Oliviero, was nominated for an Oscar. The film divided critics in the U.S. but was a big hit worldwide, paving the way for sequels including "Mondo Cane 2." He also made "Women of the World," which was accused of exploiting women, and "Africa Addio," for which he was accused of collusion with killers to obtain the violent footage in the film.An enormous number of imitators followed in Jacopetti's footsteps, many of the them using the word "Mondo" in the titles of their pics. Russ Meyer made "Mondo Topless," and John Water came out with "Mondo Trasho." There was also "Mondo Bizarro" and "Mondo Weirdo." Some of the films with "Mondo" in the title were not even documentaries and were simply taking advantage of the popularity of Jacopetti's work. Like some of his imitators, Jacopetti was accused by some of staging the bizarre events depicted in his films. In 1971 he turned his attention to antebellum South -- he and Prosperi made "Goodbye, Uncle Tom," about slavery in the U.S. The framing device: Jacopetti and Prosperi appeared onscreen as filmmakers who travel back in time.Jacopetti was born in Barga, Italy. He was a magazine editor and a maker of newsreels before he turned to feature films. His last film, which he wrote but did not direct, was "Fangio -- Una vita a 300 all'ora," a documentary about the Formula One racecar driver Juan Manuel Fangio helmed by Hugh Hudson. Ex-News Of The World Hollywood Reporter Arrested On Hacking Charges
Police arrested James Desborough for phone hacking that took place before April 2009 when he moved to Hollywood to become News Of The World's U.S. editor, The Guardian and other British papers say. Still, the13th arrest in Scotland Yard's Operation Weeting investigation could open an important new front in the scandal:U.S. officials would have to becomefar more deeply involved if Desborough revealed that Rupert Murdoch's defunct tabloid hacked voicemail messagesof Hollywood celebs. There's been no evidence yet that the paper regularly hacked phones in the U.S. -- but it has seemed logical to scandal watchers that NOTW reporters would find it irresistible to do so in the world's entertainment capital. Just before Desborough was assigned to cover Hollywood, he won the British Press Award for being the showbusiness reporter of the year. Judges said that his "uncompromising scoops" show that "no celebrity with secrets can sleep easy."

USA Acquires 30 Movies From Universal, Including 'Bridesmaids', 'Fast 5' & 'Fockers'
In one of its biggest movie acquisition deals in the last few years, USA Network has bought a package of over 30 titles from Universal Pictures. Nine of them include network premiere rights, including Judd Apatows sleeper comedy hit Bridesmaids, the Fast & the Furious sequel Fast Five; the latest installment in the Meet the Parents franchise, Little Fockers; as well as the Matt Damon starrer The Adjustment Bureau. All four will debut on USA. There was some corporate synergy at work in making the deal, with virtually all other NBCUniversal TV networks contributing financially, including NBC, Syfy, E!, Bravo, Oxygen, Style, G4, Chiller, Sleuth and UniHD. In exchange, those nets get rights to some of the titles in the package. For instance, NBC has committed to airing Bridesmaids and The Little Fockers after their premiere on USA and has an option to pick up more. Syfy will debut 2 of the 9 movies, to which USA is getting network premiere rights, Repo Man and Wes Craven's My Soul To Take. Despite buying from its sister movie studio, Jane Blaney, USA's EVP, programming, acquisitions & scheduling, stressed that the deal was made in a competitive situation. "We looked at all movies that were out there -- we looked at the last Warner Bros. and Disney packages, but this was the best list available." For the movies that USA and its sibling networks are in first position on, the network is paying the market rate of license fee in the range of 10-12% of the domestic box-office. For the remaining library titles, the fee is lower and depends on the number of plays and length of window. Over the past few years, USA has shifted focus from movies to original series. Despite that, "we are still in the movie business," Blaney said. "We plan to have about 8-10 new movies a year."
