'Addams' retools for road
'The Addams Family'TORONTO -- After opening to frightening reviews in Chicago this past year and worse ones in Gotham this season, legiters might have expected people behind Broadway musical "The Addams Family" to seal the crypt door quietly and disappear into oblivion.Rather, the creative team made like Dr. Frankenstein and overhauled the piece completely before beginning it on the road in September. The surprising result: It's alive. As well as the show's unusual publish-Rialto transformation reps an growing understanding among legit producers the Primary Stem production need not be the show's final cut."Nowadays Broadway is the beginning of the right path, not the conclusion,Inch states "Addams" producer Stuart Oken. "We'd a whole world open to determine 'The Addams Family,' filter systems ensure it is right?""The Addams Family 3.," as Windy City producer Oken of Elephant Eye Theatrical now calls it, remains garnering upbeat reviews and solid business, with dates reserved through next summer season and plans for worldwide versions australia wide, South usa and elsewhere falling nicely into position. This time around around around, a bad tone struck with the experts is much better taken in the line from Judith Newmark's review inside the St. Louis Publish-Dispatch: "Can it be a masterpiece? No. But it's appealing entertainment."It's noted for publish-Broadway rejiggering to occur. Effective longrunners including "Wicked" and "The Lion King," for instance, have fixed worrying creative issues in road versions, while using changes subsequently labored in for the Primary Stem original. The tour of "Legally Blonde," meanwhile, went getting a largely renovated physical production that shown a lot more sustainable in comparison to more costly Broadway draft."Addams," however, stays out for your extensive character in the creative work completed inside the wake of the Broadway debut. The story was overhauled employing a new plot element -- patriarch Gomez lounging to wife Morticia over their daughter's impending marriage -- just like a motor to operate a vehicle things forward. Composer Andrew Lippa emerged with new tunes, while Jerry Zaks helmed by yourself. A completely new cast, introduced by Douglas Sills ("The Scarlet Pimpernel") and Sara Gettelfinger ("Dirty Rotten Scoundrels"), now toys for lightness and charm."Everyone was onboard using the concept we'd an authentic chance on the road to finally finish that which you had started," Zaks states.Oken now confesses he initially develop numerous elements that appeared good individually, but never really gelled.Acquiring the "Jersey Boys" team of Marshall Brickman and Ron Elise to produce it made an appearance smart, as did a choice of composer-lyricist Lippa ("The Wild Party"), "Memphis" choreographer Sergio Trujillo and stars Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth as Gomez and Morticia. He showed up at into left area to find the indie-minded director-designer team responsible for "Shockheaded Peter," Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch, being the creative leaders in the production. The matchmaking didn't pan out.In Chicago, Oken states, "Everything deteriorated inside the final stages of testing, as well as the best we are able to perform just before the outlet was keep our heads above water." The finish result, which bowed in Chi in November 2009, shown a unique hybrid: part Medieval spectacle, part old-school musical.Dismissive notices almost sank them, nevertheless the producers rallied and approached Zaks, who had labored formerly with Lane ("Males and Dolls," "A Fascinating Factor Happened to be able to the Forum"). The director also were built with a recognised status just like a show physician ("Smokey Joe's Cafe"), while using Broadway retooling of "Sister Act" among his more recent credits. The main creative obstacle to conquer, according to creatives, was the very first choice to tell a completely new story using the Addams cartoons, instead of the property's subsequent iterations round the tube or perhaps the bigscreen."We learned very quickly the crowd wanted whatever they appreciated, not more recent and much more effective undertake the material,In . Trujillo states. "Which we didn't hold the time for you to adjust it the way they wanted."Adds Oken: "You obtain to the stress of entering Broadway which is a very tough, painful experience, especially when you're conscious you aren't ready."Despite the fact that show's April 2010 opening introduced largely nasty reviews, the advantage of the first material saved drawing folks -- and motivated they permit it another try."The Addams Family" shuts 12 ,. 31 round the Rialto after 750 perfs. It in most probability won't recoup -- but producers are wanting the retooled road version helps the title earn its keep. Contact the number newsroom at news@variety.com

Sons of Anarchy Boss on Season 4 Finale: Clay Experienced a "Fate Worse Than Dying"
Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman [WARNING: The next story consists of major spoilers in the Season 4 finale of FX's Sons of Anarchy. Read at the own risk.] There is virtually just one question on audiences minds heading into Sons of Anarchy's Season 4 finale: Was Clay likely to die? Sons of Anarchy's Ron Perlman: I am unsure Clay had any choice He certainly tried enough to deserve it. This year alone, Clay (Ron Perlman) involved SAMCRO in drug-running for that Galindo cartel, wiped out among the club's founding people in Piney (William Lucking), purchased popular on Jax's old lady Tara (Maggie Siff) and beat their own wife Gemma (Katey Sagal) to some bloody pulp. Oh, and Jax (Charlie Hunnam) finally discovered that Clay conspired years back to kill Jax's father. Yet, because the season's final hour unspooled, Clay, who continued to be within the hospital after being shot by Piney's boy, Opie (Ryan Hurst), was once more able to escape. When Jax found that Galindo has been around cahoots using the CIA the entire time, he's instructed to keep Clay alive to be able to broker the arms deal between Galindo and also the Irish Nobleman. But creator Kurt Sutter states Clay experienced a "fate worse than dying": Jax has formally absorbed as leader of SAMCRO, draining Clay of the items mattered most to him. Within our Q&A below, Sutter defends his decision to help keep both Clay and Juice (Theo Rossi) alive this year and weighs in at in on Gemma and Tara's fight for Jax's heart. Plus: Which side things stand between Opie and Jax in Season 5? Exclusive: Sons of Anarchy's Theo Rossi talks Juice's [SPOILER!] It appeared in the midpoint of year that Clay needed to die. Why did you decide to keep him alive? Sutter: Clearly, I really like the smoothness and i believe Ron just brings a gravitas towards the show and, quite honestly, I didn't want that disappear yet. However I imagine there's more story to experience out since Jax has these details [about Clay]. [Killing him] just appeared just like a waste in my experience. Why simply have the data for just one episode after which kill Clay? In my experience that kind of diffuses and removes the strength of individuals secrets. I did not wish to throw that away. I found that around the Shield, when Vic understood that Shane wiped out Lem but he could not do anything whatsoever about this. That season only agreed to be filled with exceptional f---ing tension with one of these men who have been damaged and ripped apart about this, but they needed to get out there and interact. ... So, I simply felt it had been really fertile ground for story. There's some great sh-- to experience by helping cover their the pair of them needing to have this secret together. However, you did appear to suggest toward Clay's dying so difficult. Let's say fans feel scammed? Sutter: Oh, I believe individuals are already pissed he wasn't dead [after being shot by Opie]. But that is all great, guy. I really like the truth that individuals are that committed and blocked in psychologically. However I think that after they begin to see the struggle that Jax has - it isn't like Jax all of a sudden forgives [Clay].Jax would really like simply to help keep pushing that knife into [Clay's] throat. I believe people might be frustrated, however their frustration is a shared frustration with Jax. And Clay did not emerge from the finale completely untouched. Sutter: Right. For somebody like Clay to become reduced to some guy who's wounded and destabilized and it has his f---ing patch ripped away? It's similar to a fate worse than dying for Clay. It is the humiliation from it all. It's like he's literally been f---ing neutered. ... For any guy as hard so that as alpha as Clay, that it's worse than if [Jax] just f---ing slit his throat. Sons of Anarchy Season 4: Is SAMCRO failing? Let us discuss why Clay continues to be alive: The finale also revealed the Galindo cartel is dealing with the CIA. Sutter: We understood we would do this in the jump. And i'm wishing should you return and check out every scene that Romeo [Danny Trejo] had right from the start, we laid clues in throughout. We did not tell the storyline in ways you could think back and go, "Wait one minute, that doesn't seem sensible.Inch Everything kind of falls into position and is sensible. And despite the fact that that relationship is keeping Clay alive, additionally, it able to escape SAMCRO from Potter's RICO sting. Sutter: I really like that the one thing that compromised all of the police force attempts this year was other police force. It had been Potter [Ray McKinnon], who compromised Eli [Rockmond Dunbar], after which it had been ultimately the CIA that compromised Potter. I similar to the proven fact that the complications and also the political whole world of the justice product is its very own f---ing outlaw organization that's constantly shooting itself within the feet. Clay is not the only real character to cheat dying this year. Have you ever consider getting Juice's suicide attempt be effective? Sutter: Used to do weigh both options. The simple truth is, I feltlike as we did that to Juice, ultimately the Piney scene would certainly tight on weight. Which was the dying in my experience which i decided out forever from the series. I felt like, "Basically do each of individuals men, I will do each of them a injustice. ... But that stuff does not disappear. Juice continues to be coping with the guilt of the items he did. That details are still available and will be available for all of us to make use of, if it seems sensible. Take a look at photos from the Sons of Anarchy cast Piney's dying introduced Opie to the forefront, especially his difficulties with Jax. What should we model of Opie's absence while dining within the final scene? Sutter: It simply felt too convenient for everything to fall in position with Jax. And That I similar to the concept that whenever you hear that door open, you assume it's Opie, but it is Tara. I understood I would kind of leave Opie available undecided. It does not mean he's written Jax off or he's disappearing, however it means he isn't prepared to use and spend time at that table. We'll have the ability to play that out next season. While you stated, Tara turns up for Jax in the finish. For the reason that moment, has she finally beaten Gemma within the fight for Jax? Sutter: It is certainly an argument. ... Tara may be the one now in the mind of this table with Jax. Gemma didn't observe that coming. She just assumed that they would have the ability to manipulate and everyone in line which she will be the one behind her boy. But all of a sudden there's the threat of the new full. So, we obtain to experience out a bit more of this fight from the matriarchs next season. It's similar to Gemma kind of produced her very own Frankenstein. And Tara continues to have some apple on Gemma that Jax is not aware of.Sutter: I certainly believe it is leverage that Tara has, which enables her to possess that defiance. Gemma was wise enough to eliminate evidence, but Tara has some leverage over Gemma and Gemma needs to navigate around that. It is a more interesting approach to take for Season 5. It's less about Gemma saying, "Okay, how can i eliminate Tara?" It needs to become more about, "How do you bring Tara closer? How do you win her back?" That's a far more difficult skill for Gemma than simply f---ing striking someone within the mind having a skateboard. With Gemma and Clay both being pressed from the group of friends a little, do you consider they'll reunite in exile? Sutter: I'm not sure. There's part of me that thinks as f---erectile dysfunction up because it is... ultimately this type of person just intended to be together regardless of what the harm is. As well as in a strange way lots of occasions individuals associations are fixed. But I believe, "Shall we be doing the storyline a injustice by doing that?" I believe they're inherently associated with one another due to the secrets, and so i think there'll always be a continuing relationship together. I am just less than sure what that will seem like. Can there be room for Unser (Dayton Calllie) to finally be considered a real player for the reason that strange triangular? Sutter: It had been a great deal fun to complete to kind of put him in the center of the entire Clay and Gemma factor and also to engage in a few of the background and dynamic between him and Gemma. I do not always think he and Gemma are likely to connect, however i think that relationship continues and engage in. So he'll certainly be around and that we always finish up finding something fun for your character. Forex orders a 13-episode fifth season of Sons of Anarchy Tig looked just a little angry about losing his chair as Sergeant at Arms. Is he going to fight Jax?Sutter: Tig has has been Clay's guy. I did not wish to leave everyone in absolute conflict with Clay. I felt like he needed a friend. And despite the fact that Tig might be wrong, Clay comes with a minumum of one guy who loves him. And, obviously, Tig appears to possess began quite a nasty beef using the Niners. Sutter: I needed to setup something when it comes to tension when ever Jax gets control in the mind of the club. We'll start with some feeling of immediacy plus some type of threat. And That I don't exactly understand what that'll be yet, however i did wish to lay some track therefore we can hit the floor running with something next season. The 2009 season, you explained this finale felt much like a set finale. Do you consider that will help you to reinvent the show next season?Sutter: It is a reinvention when it comes to individuals duties and roles inside the club. However for me, it's kind of the finish of the act. I recognized for the finish of year that people were visiting b ... more reflective finish. And I'm not sure this without a doubt, however i almost obtain a sense that possibly this next act of Sons may have a number of that dynamic. Not too it will not have action and become exactly what the show is, but I am okay when the show includes a different energy. We now have a lot emotionality that we have revealed between these figures. Individuals moments which dynamic can't happen as rapidly. They almost need to happen reduced due to there being a lot more to digest. So, exactly what do the thing is in mind from the next act?Sutter: I wish to [concentrate on] which kind of leader Jax is going to be. ... Which father will Jax emulate in the mind of this table? Can he function as the guy and fulfill his father's vision, which would be to turn the club around making it legitimate? Or is he going to ultimately just become Clay. For me personally, it truly is: Can Jax replace Clay without becoming Clay? What have you think about the finale?

Debut Award at Sweden's Gothenburg Fest, and the Audience Award at the now-defunct Mexico City Ficco fest -- both in 2009 -- among a bevy of kudos. Set in the Spanish region of Castilla-La Mancha, in a real-life village called Pozoamargo, pic turns on Jesus, a man who finds out he's suffering from a venereal disease, and decides to hides in the village fleeing from his own inner demons. "Pic is an analysis of guilt, a product of morality and, in the ultimate analysis, a useless sentiment," Rivero explained. "The main character won't create a sense of audience empathy: He is an anti-hero, the opposite of Beto at 'Parque.'" "Pozo" will shoot in 2013, split into two stages -- grape-picking in September, the olive-harvest in January. Rivero will lense his sophomore feature -- "Mai Morire" -- in February. "Morire" is co-produced by Una Comunion and Zamora Films with the support of Netherlands' Hubert Bals Fund. Pic is set in Mexico City's Xochimilco, a district whose inhabitants travel by boat via canals. "In a place where people live like five centuries ago, a middle-aged woman comes back to take care of her ill mother and is forced to take some serious decisions," Rivero explained, saying "Morire" talks about "transcendence." Trio launch StarCast Auditions service
Industry veterans Jules Haimovitz, Gary Beer and David Hope have teamed to launch StarCast Auditions, an online service featuring acting audition videos vetted by casting directors. Actors can submit a scene approximately 60-90 seconds long for one of 24 demos. The panel of casting directors -- including Gretchen Rennell Court, Amy Taksen Somers and Yesi Ramirez -- then select up to four best performances of a particular scene to post. Performers will be required to pay a fee of $10 when submitting auditions. Casting directors, producers and other execs will be able to access the vids for free without a registration process. The largest share of the revenue from actor fees will go to the evaluators. StarCast chairman Haimovitz previously worked with co-CEO Hope at ITC Entertainment Group, where they were CEO and exec VP, respectively. Hope also formerly served as prexy and COO of On Stage Entertainment. Haimovitz met StarCast co-CEO Beer, founding CEO and managing director of the Sundance Film Festival, when he negotiated an investment in the Sundance Movie Channel. The casting directors will have autonomy over the selection process. StarCast will not "hold libraries of auditions" and "will basically discard" vids that don't make the cut, Haimovitz said. The Michael Fassbender-Prometheus-Greg Louganis Nexus
“I kind of went my own way, really. I didn’t watch the [Alien] films. When I found out I was doing it, I didn’t revisit them. […] Greg Louganis was my first inspiration. I figured that I’d sort of base my physicality roughly around him, and then it kind of went from there.” [MTV Movies]

Robert Pattinson, Ryan Gosling And More Get The 'Jack And Jill' Treatment
We don't know whether to thank or send hate mail to Adam Sandler and the rest of the crew of "Jack and Jill" for now making us wonder what our favorite actors would look like, to put it bluntly, as ladies. With "Jack and Jill" making its theatrical debut today, MTV's brilliant in-house Photoshop expert Sohyung Kang put the heads of four of our favorite actors on the bodies of some sexy women just to see what the result would be. And, to be honest, we're a bit turned on and put off by how pretty Robert Pattinson ended up being. It's okay to dislike some of their make-up decisions -- that lipstick is not your shade, Alice Pacino -- but we definitely think this opens up some creative options for Pattinson, Pacino, Ryan Gosling and Daniel Radcliffe in the future. If Glenn Close can so convincingly switch genders in "Albert Nobbs" and Sandler can not-quite-as-convincingly switch them in "Jack and Jill," we think these guys could have something going for them as well.

Steve Jobs' Mercedes Trick: How He Got Away Without License Plates in California
Jobs notoriously drove a silver Mercedes Benz 550 AMG without license plates for a long time -- apparently in breach of the California law that needs automobiles to show front and back license plates. Plastic Valley was rife with rumor and speculation about how exactly Jobs got away with downloading copyrighted movies. Some blogs thought he just compensated the $250 acceptable for neglecting to display a license plate each time law enforcement drawn him over. Goran Visnjic Gambles With Romance and Politics on Pan Am
Goran Visnjic Poor Kate. It's difficult to juggle a love life when you're a jet-setting stewardess and undercover spy. Luckily, Goran Visnjic, who once played Dr. Luka Kovac on ER, has the remedy for Pan Am's lovelorn flight attendant. Beginning Sunday (10/9c on ABC), Visnjic will play debonair Yugoslavian diplomat Niko Lonza, who takes a personal interest in Kate (Kelli Garner) on a flight from NY to Monte Carlo. The precocious redhead has had a hard time of it lately; the CIA put her on notice for disobeying orders and her younger sister Laura (Margot Robbie) moved out. It's perfect timing to begin a new, ego-boosting relationship, even if it doesn't begin in the most romantic way. From pillbox hat to bullet bra: The anatomy of a Pan Am stewardess uniform "Just before she gets on the plane, she gets this assignment," Visnjic tells TVGuide.com. "Her CIA handler gives her a photo of Niko and he tells her, 'This is the guy who's going to help you get inside that casino in Monte Carlo, but he can't know what's going on. You just need to befriend him and use him to get inside this casino.'" Once Kate finishes her assignment, she finds Niko again and begins their love affair in earnest, without orders this time. "She thinks that she's no longer putting Niko in any kind of danger from the CIA since he wasn't part of the actual assignment, but just a tool to get inside the casino," explains Visnjic. "That's why she thinks it's OK to fall in love with this guy because the CIA is apparently not interested in him." Politically, Kate shouldn't have had anything to worry about by getting involved with Niko. Visnjic says, "[The writers] wanted to bring a character in who was going to be from a communist country in 1963, but also politically neutral because Yugoslavia at the time was not part of the Iron Curtain. He works in the UN and lives in NY." As their relationship deepens over the course of a four-episode arc, they enjoy intimate interludes as well as light-hearted dates, such as one outing at an amusement park. "That was in an episode when they get back from Monte Carlo," Visnjic says. "You believe that these two people might have a beautiful future ahead of them." Do you like Pan Am? Vote for it in our Fall TV Popularity Contest! Unfortunately, Kate is new to the spy business and doesn't actually know the deeper game at stake. "Right after that, something hits the fan and all hell breaks loose for them," says Visnjic. "The CIA gets involved with their relationship and also the Yugoslavian Secret Service. It gets really political and this love story turns into a spy story. It's quite intricate. Things are never as simple as they look." The actor doesn't go into detail, but apparently Niko and Kate aren't destined to take a Pan Am flight on their honeymoon anytime soon. "I can't tell you much, but it's an interesting ending, a story of betrayal and a love story," says Visnjic. "It's not going to end well." Poor Kate. Pan Am airs on Sundays at 10/9c on ABC. Are you psyched to see Goran Visnjic back on TV? How are you liking the espionage aspect of Pan Am? Why can't Kate just be happy?

Exactly Why Is MPTFs Ousted Dr. David Tillman Coming back With The Mystery?
MPTFs Acute Care Cope With Providence Health & Services Doesn't Happen EXCLUSIVE: More not so good news in the Film And Tv Fund. Family people are furious the guy they blame for playing the central role in attempting to close the Wasserman Campus health care facilities for acute care, Dr. David Tillman, is returning with the mystery. Tillman was ousted as Leader and Boss from the MPTF’s Film Hospital in Feb 2010. However he's been hired through the Partners In Care Foundation his or her First Chief Medical Officer. And merely who's Chairman from the Board of Partners In Care? Why Seth Ellis, the MPTF’s Vice president and COO who had been Tillman’s longtime second in command. It’s a textbook situation of cronyism: Tillman and Ellis showed up together at theMPTF in 2000, and both made bitter opponents of family people who fought against the MPTF’s make an effort to close the acute care hospital and assisted living facilities. At one pointMSNBC’s Keith Olbermann named Tillman the”World’s Worst” person due to the imminent closures. It’s broadly felt that after the MPTF Board subcommittee left Tillman, it had been an initial step to try and bring the MPTF back along with the Hollywood community, and particularly family people who’ve been most vocal about this acute care problem. This is seen like a giant step backwards, especially since it spotlights the questionable dual role which Ellis plays by getting large jobs with each partner in Care and also the MPTF. Richard Stellar, an open activist for that film industry’s elder privileges and also the boy of the former resident from the Film Home, informs me this about Tillman’s return: “In my estimation this can be a blatant conflict of great interest that once more connects Dr. Tillman with MPTF senior management. Has he ever really gone away, or were we simply brought to think he had?” Within the Partners In Care pr release announcing Tillman’s hire, Seth Ellis, the COO from the Film Home, heaps praise on Tillman. That’s like adding fuel towards the fire that exploded over Tillman’s MPTF tenure that has taken at least a year to start to extinguish: Getting Dr. Tillman come along at this time within our evolution, signals the dynamic growth and expansion possibilities Partners is going through. Partners is poised to create increased expertise towards the area, broaden our impact, and shape the way forward for healthcare. Both Tillman and Ellis were the designers from the make an effort to dismantle long-term acute health care in the MPTF campus. Based on savingthelivesofourown.org, “Tillman’s goal, working silently underneath the surface with Seth Ellis, for pretty much ten years, ended up being to close the Wasserman Campus health care facilities, making work from home community care the main focus of MPTF health care services. Tillman who gained $600,000 a yearat the MPTFwas pressed to exit due to the pr nightmare that ensued within the make an effort to shutter the acute care hospital and lengthy-term seniors care facilities. In the job, Tillman would be to provide oversight for patients shifting from hospitals to community care services. Immediately, it calls into wonder if Ellis may have Tillman and Partners In Carehelp MPTF transition out its acute care facilities. Now now you ask , if the bigwig Hollywood people from the MPTF Board understood about and approved of Ellis’ employing of Tillman.

People's Choice Awards 25 Under 25: Hollywood's Hottest Young Stars
It looks like Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner wasn't fooling around. Just one day after he told analysts that the toy company was "actively discussing" a fourth 'Transformers' film with director Michael Bay, producer Steven Spielberg and Paramount, Variety reports that plans for a fourth and fifth are in the works. If this happens, the plan is to shoot 'Transformers 4' and 'Transformers 5' back-to-back to keep production costs down and bring in a new star to replace the departing Shia LaBeouf. No deals have been offered yet, but Variety mentions Jason Statham as an option being "bandied about." (Note: this would be awesomesauce.) Bay had alluded to the fact that he wouldn't direct another 'Transformers' film, but he's considering directing this go-around, proving once again that money talks. [Variety] Speaking of Shia LaBeouf, the actor is attached to play a 20-foot-tall giant in what's being described as an "untitled quirky love story." The film will follow a broke girl who moves back home after a string of bad relationships, and strikes up a rapport with the giant next door. Gil Kenan ('Monster House') wrote the script and will direct. Being 20-feet-tall could have come in handy for LaBeouf in Vancouver last week. Ahem. [Variety] Time for some Hollywood gossip: TheWrap reports that Mark Wahlberg and David O. Russell are no longer friends after the director cast Bradley Cooper in his new film. Wahlberg had been attached to star in Russell's 'The Silver Linings Playbook' but was replaced by Cooper because of costs. At least that's what the director's estranged cousin tells TheWrap. Wahlberg has starred in three films for Russell, including 'The Fighter' which marked the director's comeback after spending years in Hollywood jail for his caustic on-set antics. Take from this story what you must. [TheWrap] "I did it on my own terms, in my own time, in my own words, and that is absolutely the type of relationship I want to have to that information. I did it because I recognized the way that it helped people, I did it because it was my time to do it, and yeah, it was definitely a deliberate choice to do it in that way," Zachary Quinto on why he decided to come out. Good job. [NextMovie] 'Zombieland' screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese have been hired to turn the Hasbro toyline 'Micronauts' into a new film for director J.J. Abrams and Paramount. There are a lot of things wrong in that sentence, but many right? [Deadline] Screenwriter William Monahan has some ideas for a sequel to 'The Departed,' but don't hold your breath. ""I think Warner Bros. would have liked to see a synopsis of it," the Oscar winner told Collider when asked why a sequel wouldn't materialize despite Monahan's notes. "I don't do synopses and I don't pitch. Personally, I don't know if it's ever going to happen. I know the film, I've got the film in my head. Even if everybody didn't come back, which they could in the film as I've configured it, it would be a hell of a paycheck for somebody to write. The film would have to be absolutely superb." RATINGS RAT RACE: SNL Takes Small Slide With Ben Stiller In Host Slot
Alec Baldwin and Melissa McCarthy rate slightly over Ben Stiller, at least as far as NBC’s Saturday Night Live is concerned. Despite special appearances by Hugh Jackman and Kenny G and a hosting stint from Stiller — starring in the new Brett Ratner feature Tower Heist – the thirdinstallment of SNL’s new season was able to average just a 4.8 rating/12 share in metered-market homes. That compares to a 5.1 for the season premiere two weeks ago with host Baldwin and a 5.2 on Oct. 1 with McCarthy presiding. Last night’s numbers could well have been impacted by several rain delays during Game 1 of the American League Championship Series on Fox, pushing the game’s conclusion far later than normal. Texas wound up beating Detroit, 3-2. In adults 18-49, however, last night’s SNL matched the 2.6/11 generated by the Baldwin-hosted season kickoff.

La, Calif. -- It is time to stay into that couch, prop your ft up and grab the remote the brand new season of television is here now. By last count, there have been a lot more than 24 completely new dramas and comedies set to debut within the next couple of days, accumulated to a lot more than a whole day and nights price of television. Overwhelming? Certainly. But at AccessHollywood.com, weve got you covered. We spent the final six days watching each and every pilot and weve handled to narrow it lower towards the Five Most popular New Shows of Fall Television. Try them out, indexed by order of the premiere date 1. Ringer Mixing drama, a murder mystery, and bushels of Twintrigue (have it? twin + intrigue), The CWs Ringer marks Sarah Michelle Gellars go back to television. But Buffy The Vampire Slayer, this isn't. You cannot top Buffy, you realize Its what it really was. It had been an incredible experience Which was different, Sarah Michelle told Access Hollywood. I really like film noir, I really like the unraveling from the mysteries and that i havent performed twins before, and so i thought, OK, why don't you? Double trouble Ringer finds Sarah Michelle playing troubled twins, whose lives have diverged on equally destructive pathways. Ones a recuperating addict away from home from testifying against a mob boss, others a wealthy NYer inside a damaged marriage, with a few very large and incredibly harmful secrets. Basically, the pitch from the show would be that the audience are let in on the secret right in the beginning: Bridget and Siobhan, who're identical twins, have swapped lives, Ioan Gruffudd, who plays Siobhans husband, Andrew, told Access. So right from the start you're destined to be add an outing of intrigue and backstabbing and high cliff wardrobe hangers in the finish of each and every episode. I believe its destined to be your favorite telenovelas, cleaning soap operas, entered with Damages, the Welshman added of his show, which opened on Tuesday evening at 9 PM. 2. Two Broke Women And from dark mysteries about the Upper East Side to some greasy spoon in Brooklyn, next on our list may be the highly-anticipated new comedy from Sex and also the City author and producer Michael Patrick King CBS Two Broke Women. Starring Kat Dennings and newcomer Janet Behrs, Two Broke Women is really a saucy comedy by what comes about when you mix a blunt-speaking, two-job working waitress having a disgraced uptown princess. I believe the captivating factor about somebody with many different money and losing almost all their money was interesting, Michael Patrick stated in the Television Experts Association Summer time Session in August. And somebody whose existence was designed to go a particular way after which all of a sudden went another way, was interesting. For Janet, she stated the show, which premieres Monday, September 19 at 9:30 PM on CBS, accumulates to a great deal of laughs. It is also just really silly and funny and laugh-out-noisy type of comedy, she's stated. 3. New Girl FOX is amping up their comedy plate this season with New Girl, starring the adorable Zooey Deschanel, sister of Bones star Emily. Noted for her giant screen roles in films like Elf and (500) Times of Summer time, Zooey brings her charm and penchant for song towards the character of Jess, a youthful lady frantically looking for new digs Its in regards to a girl named Jess. She will get left by her boyfriend of numerous many she kind of requires a spot to live so she moves along with three men who reside in a attic, Zooey told Access from the show, which premieres on September 20 at 9 PM on FOX. Its just kind of a fascinating intersection of these peoples personas. The comedy really arrives from the figures. With an attractive girl getting several shoulders to cry on, it can lead to just a little romance too. I believe theres certainly just a little Mike and Diane, Zooey added, referencing Moonlighting. With all of these men, I seem like it is primarily the combine of various character defects, like getting into one anothers way. Ultimately, they might drive one another crazy, they also all love one another simultaneously. I certainly think theres lots of options so far as in which the figures are gonna go. 4. Revenge Modern Family might be charge into the next program making our Five Most popular New Shows of Fall Television list, but theres nothing funny about Basic steps scintillating new drama Revenge. Emily VanCamp leads the cast of the fall TV entry, loosely in line with the Count of Monte Cristo. The first kind Siblings & Siblings star plays Emily Thorne, a youthful lady of means, who heads towards the Hamptons, privately bent on enacting vengeance against individuals who required her father from her growing up and forever by framework him for any terrible crime. It will get dark, shes dark, Emily told Access. Essentially all she lives for is revenge. She's nothing left to get rid of. I believe its more a calculated type of destruction that they really wants to happen. She would like to look at them suffer and have the ability to sense might observe that happening, she added of her character Emilys goals within the show, which premieres Wednesday, September 21 at 10 PM on ABC. 5. Homeland It required a powerful, suspenseful script, but Emmy and Golden Globe champion Claire Danes was wooed to series television for Homeland, the ultimate program to create our list. I believe theres so much liberty that certain has in cable, Claire stated lately in the TCAs of signing on for that drama. You're able to curse a great deal. You're able to get naked a great deal I believe that thats more desirable compared to relatively moderate work hrs. Its only the creative versatility. In Showtimes hour-lengthy drama, Claire stars as Barbara Mathison, an unconventional CIA agent, concered about the return of Sergeant Nicholas Brody, a marine who had been saved in Afghanistan, eight years after he'd been presumed dead. Its British actor and former Gang of Siblings star Damian Lewis who plays Sergeant Brody, a guy battling to adjust to existence home together with his wife Jessica --Versus Morena Baccarin and keep a number of secrets. For me personally, it simply will get better and, Damian said in the TCAs of his new gig on Homeland. In England, we cant get this to type of TV. We do not have the assets We do not have film and TV language within our DNA in the same manner everyone do here. And also the large concept in telling it compellingly, entertainingly, however in a psychologically real way along with a complex strategy is something we simply we dont develop as frequently as everyone do. So that i can be this is a thrill. Homeland premieres Sunday, October 2 at 10 PM on Showtime. Copyright 2011 by NBC Universal, Corporation. Nike Air McFly's Premiere Event: 5 Things Seen and Heard
Last night, Nike unveiled the Air McFly's-officially known as the 2011 Nike MAG-an exact replica of the shoes Michael J. Fox wore in 1988's Back to the Future II (minus the cool power lacing feature) with an event at Hollywood's Ricardo MontablanTheater and an appearance by Fox onThe Late Show with David Letterman.our editor recommendsFirst Pair of Back to the Future Marty McFly Nike Shoes Sell for $37,500Marty McFly Nike Shoes Ignite Strong Fan ResponseNike Expected to Announce 'Back to the Future'-Style Self-Lacing Sneakers Thursday (Video) Nike is producing just 1500 pairs of the mythical sneakers as part of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research's Back For the Future fundraising campaign. The sneakers will be auctioned on eBay at the rate of 150 pairs a day for the next ten days with all the money going to Fox's foundation. Last night the first pair-in a special package that included a replica plutonium case from the film, t-shirt, ceramic model, and a promise that Michael J. Fox would write a personal note on the case--fetched $37,500 from 22-year-old British rapper Tinie Tempah. Halfway through the first day, bids on eBay ranged between $3,850 and $8,100 for the first batch of 150 sneakers, significantly more than the Fox Foundation's initial estimate of about $2,000 a pair. The unveiling was like a hip-hop Comic Con as geeky fanboys and hip-hop hipsters all drooled over the famous gray high tops and jockeyed to have their picture taken posing with one of the actual DeLorean cars from the movie. Here's five things seen and heard at last night's event: 1. Host Joel McHale (Community) introduced himself with, "Hi, I'm Matthew Lillard." Yea, he probably uses that line all the time but it still killed. 2.McHale recently said he is forbidden from making Kardashian jokes onThe Soupbecause of complaints from the family, but that didn't stop him from cracking one last night, which went about like this: "Nike is introducing Air Kardashians tonight. They smell like hummus all the time." Half the audience laughed, half hissed. 3. The biggest ovation of the night didn't go to Back to the Future star Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown) or director Bob Zemeckis but to Nike design head Tinker Hatfield, who is also responsible for the Air Jordans. When he walked out on stage someone in the crowd yelled, "Yo Tinker Hatfield-greatest shoe designer ever!" 4. The Air McFly's would be cool to own but in person they are ugly. The combination of oversize hightops + flashy lights + washed gray color look like a bad 80s throwback, which, of course, is exactly what they are. 5. Still no hoverboard announcement. How Annoying Is Paul Rudd In 'Our Idiot Brother'?
From what we know about "Our Idiot Brother," which, truth be told, is based solely on our reaction to the trailers and the reviews, Paul Rudd's modus operandi in the family comedy is to pester his family and friends, played by the likes of Zooey Deschanel, Elizabeth Banks, Emily Mortimer and Rashida Jones (though in a lovable, if slightly moronic way). Yes, we realize there is more to the story, and that because Rudd is so lovable, his character likely doesn't stay annoying for too long. So when MTV News caught up with the cast at the film's premiere recently, we asked them point blank: How annoying is Paul Rudd in this movie? As expected, the results are fun and funny. "[He's] not as annoying as his Crocs," Rashida Jones told us of one particularly offensive piece of her costar's wardrobe. "No offense to people who wear Crocs, theyre super comfortable, but come on, not [to wear] out of the house." "On a scale of one to 10, hes an eight-and-a-half probably," Elizabeth Banks admitted. "But in real life hes more like a four." In contrast, Zooey Deschanel doesn't think Rudd has an annoying bone in his body. "Hes not annoying at all!" she protested. "Hes lovely. That was a trick question." Rudd, however, was happy to play ball, and offered a little reenactment by way of moving into our camera for an extreme close-up. "Almost as annoying as I am right now," he said in response to the 'How annoying are you?' question, before stepping back to consider the question seriously. "I think [his behavior] is annoying to certain characters," Rudd said. "Hopefully not to America."
